As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will lead the development of Capio’s consumer-facing applications and related technologies, reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Application Development. This hybrid role is split between hands-on engineering—designing and developing scalable, high-quality software solutions (approximately 80%)—and leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and guiding a small team of two engineers (approximately 20%).

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in full stack development with a strong portfolio of hands-on contributions
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, React, and React Native
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and working with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Proficiency with NoSQL databases, especially DynamoDB
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and collaborate across teams
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment

Preferred/Valued Competencies

  • Experience with mobile app deployment processes for iOS and Android
  • Background in healthcare or financial services industries
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring or leading small engineering teams

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of full stack applications across mobile and web platforms, with a strong emphasis on hands-on coding (approximately 80% of the role)
  • Define and implement technical requirements and architectural decisions for new features and product enhancements
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code with a focus on performance, maintainability, and security
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and QA to deliver high-impact solutions
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives within a two-week sprint cycle
  • Conduct code reviews, provide technical feedback, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices
  • Create and maintain technical documentation related to system architecture, APIs, and development processes
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through pair programming, technical guidance, and regular 1:1s
  • Contribute to a collaborative, remote-first engineering culture that values continuous learning and improvement

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $145,000
  • Position is Exempt, with Paid Holidays and Vacation Time-off
  • 401(K) Available (with matching, after three months of employment)
