Senior Residence Worker
At BACI, Senior Residence Workers supports the Manager to ensure effective operations in the home and provides support to individuals to live in their own homes in the community as full citizens. They enhance individuals lives through supporting connection to families and friends, providing opportunities to make meaningful choices, recognizing their contributions and promoting their health and well-being.
Position: Regular Full-Time Senior Residence Worker
Location: Richmond, BC
Salary: $29.17/hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Schedule: Thursday, Friday & Saturday 8am-8:30pm
Qualifications:
- A diploma in human services or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, is required for this position.
- First Aid, CPR, NCI certification, TB screening, up-to-date vaccinations. Valid BC Class 5 unrestricted Driver’s license required.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must have previous direct program delivery experience in the community social services sector with a demonstrated knowledge of the responsibilities associated with community-based service delivery. At least 2 years of experience in program design, evaluation and Person-Centered Planning preferred.
- The ability to establish positive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, individuals’ networks and external professionals.
- Assists the Manager in providing orientations, training, work direction and guidance to Adult Service Workers (ASW) and Intensive Adult Service Workers (IASW) by performing duties such as: clarifying program policies, coaching.
- Assists the manger in organizing and reviewing required documentation and program scheduling.
- Provide input to the Manager on ASW performance evaluations.
- Participates in the assessment, goal setting and personal planning for the individuals living in the home. May also assist in ensuring individual support plans are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Documents, implements and provides input into the evaluation of the program.
- Ability to coach and teach others, including individuals supported in the home.
- Good written and verbal communication. Contributes to fostering healthy team dynamics.
- Must have good computer skills. Experience using Microsoft Office and comfortable using a variety of online platforms in everyday work, including those for virtual meetings and work.
- Organizational skills and time management are essential.
