About This Position

If you ask most people how they feel about their health insurance, the answer is usually frustrated. Long waits, confusing portals, surprise bills, and constant uncertainty about cost. It’s one of the few products people pay thousands for but dread using.
AI has changed how people access health information - you can ask about symptoms, compare treatment options, and get nutrition guidance in seconds. But chatbots can’t order labs, prescribe medications, or coordinate benefits. And incumbent insurers are years behind on modern, consumer-grade experiences.
Arlo is building a new front door to healthcare: an AI-first experience that decodes your benefits, estimates costs before care, and books the right provider, then closes the loop with human clinicians to make sure care actually happens. Because we pair this with a full-stack insurance product, coverage, navigation, and payment work together instead of fighting each other.
Our approach is working. We’ve grown from zero to tens of thousands of members in under a year, and we are just getting started. If you’re excited to fundamentally rebuild a system that impacts millions, we’d love to talk.
What You’ll DoAs a Product Engineer, you will be at the heart of our member experience, translating powerful AI capabilities into beautiful, intuitive, and reliable product features.
  • Build and ship delightful, AI-powered features across our web and mobile applications (React, React Native, TypeScript).
  • Partner with our AI team to integrate sophisticated LLM agents into seamless, conversational user interfaces.
  • Own features across our entire stack, from our Python/Postgres backend APIs to our modern frontend, ensuring a high-quality experience for tens of thousands of members.

To give you a sense of the impact you'll have, here are some initial projects you could own:
  • AI-Powered Triage: Craft the user interface for our AI Triage tool, guiding patients through a clear, conversational flow to help them find the right care setting. You'll be responsible for the full-stack implementation that saves members time, money, and stress.
  • The Infinitely Patient Care Partner: Build the front-end experience for our AI care partner, handling real-time streaming responses to create a chat interface that feels truly human and supportive. You'll turn a powerful LLM into a trusted companion for our members.
  • Proactive Health Engine: Develop the full-stack systems for our Proactive Health Engine, connecting AI-driven insights to members through personalized in-app notifications and interactive modules that encourage preventive care.

  • What we’re looking forThis role is a great fit if you are a product-minded engineer who loves the craft of building and is excited to work with the latest AI technology.
    • A strong track record of shipping high-quality, full-stack consumer applications, with proficiency across our stack (Python, Postgres, TypeScript, and React/React Native).
    • Deep product intuition and a passion for user experience. You have led the development of 0-to-1 products in fast-paced environments, owning features from initial concept to happy users.
    • Excitement for integrating novel technologies, like LLMs, to build magical user experiences. You don't need to be an AI expert, but you're thrilled by the challenge of turning powerful APIs into intuitive and reliable products.
    • Fluency with modern engineering practices, including a high bar for code quality and the use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate your workflow.
    Nice to Haves
    • Prior experience in a regulated space like healthcare or fintech.
    • A strong eye for design and user interface details.

Why You'll Love Building at Arlo
  • Solve a Problem That Matters. Healthcare is one of the most personal and broken parts of modern life. You won't just be writing code; you'll be building a product that directly improves people's lives during their most vulnerable moments. We’re looking for people who feel the urgency of this mission and are driven to do the hard, gritty work to solve it.
  • Own Outcomes, Not Tickets. We hire great people and give them the context and freedom to do their best work. You will own entire problem areas end-to-end, from understanding member needs to shipping the solution. This is a role for someone who wants to define the what and the why, not just execute on the how.
  • Shape Our Trajectory. We have product-market fit and are growing faster than we can keep up. Joining now means you’ll have an outsized impact not just on our product, but on our engineering culture and the future of the company itself.
  • Build with an A-Team. You’ll work alongside a tight-knit, high-performing team of engineers, designers, and operators who are as passionate about our mission as you are.

  • Compensation and Benefits
    • Base Salary: $200,000 – $220,000
    • Meaningful Ownership: A significant equity grant in a high-growth, venture-backed company. We want you to own the outcome of your work and share in our collective success.
    • Top-Tier Health Coverage: 100% employer-paid premiums for comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life insurance.
    • On-site Perks: Daily lunches and snacks
