About This Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant, performs routine patient care services that do not require professional judgement or skills. Performs in accordance with standards of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy practice that are ethical and legal in North Carolina. Receive and direct all visitors, patients and incoming calls. Arrange patient appointments and outpatient registrations determining proper payor and or insurance coverage and completing verification of said coverage through appropriate means. Perform clerical functions such as, filing, typing, copying, mail distribution; complete word processing, charge entry and other data entry functions using various PC software and the EPIC system. Assist clinicians with transport and treatment as deemed appropriate.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Incumbent must attain BCLS certification within 3 months of hire; recertification required annually. Working knowledge of rehabilitation equipment and routine treatment procedures gained through substantial prior experience as a Rehabilitation Aide, Rehabilitation Volunteer or Transporter. May require a valid NC Driver’s license and access to use of an automobile.
Preferred: Associate degree/Certificate in Secretarial Science or Business is preferred.
Two years’ experience in a healthcare facility.
