Backhoe Operator - Constuction Department in The Bronx, New York at Riverbay Corporation

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate backhoe and skid steer for excavation, grading, and loading tasks.
• Perform routine inspections on equipment and report necessary repairs to supervisor to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure assigned tasks are completed.
• Manage job-site cleanup and organization, ensuring equipment is stored safely.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in engineering or construction related field, a plus

Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, including but not limited to backhoe operation, skid steer operation.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy machinery operation.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
• Attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license required (CT, NY, NJ and PA only)
• CDL, preferred but not required

Testing:

• Drug screening, as permitted by and consistent with applicable law

Physical Requirements:

Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
