Position Statement

The PCU Licensed Nurse Assistant is responsible to care for adult and geriatric patients hospitalized for medical and post-surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists and supervises patients to perform activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, eating, and ambulating.
• Performs and documents vital sign checks, glucose monitoring, and bladder scanning.
• Documents oral intake, elimination output, and patient rounding.
• Reports patient concerns and changes in patient condition to Staff nurse and/or Charge nurse.
• Provides compassionate end of life care.
• Attends and participates in unit education and in-services.
• Strives to improve the quality of patient care through personal development and unit projects.
• Collaborates with teammates to promote and preserve a positive work-place culture.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Current Vermont LNA license required.
• Current BLS certification required. Classes and certification offered by Employer.
• Maintains current AVADE certification. Classes and certification offered by Employer.
