About the Role:

As a Component Technician, you will be responsible for performing repair and overhaul activities on aircraft engines, Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), modules, accessories, and related components. In this role, you will troubleshoot, disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, test, and preserve aircraft components while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM manuals, company procedures, and industry safety standards. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, performance, and airworthiness of our aircraft systems.


A Day in the Life:

Your day will be hands-on, technical, and detail-oriented, focused on ensuring aircraft engines and components are repaired, overhauled, and returned to service safely and efficiently. Typical responsibilities include:


  • Engine Troubleshooting & Repair: Perform troubleshooting and repair activities both on-wing and off-wing under general supervision, following departmental procedures, technical manuals, and safety standards.
  • Engine Disassembly & Assembly: Disassemble and reassemble turbine engines and related components using specialized aircraft tooling, balance machines, drill presses, surface grinders, and other overhaul equipment.
  • Component Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of engine parts using precision tools such as magnifying glasses, vernier calipers, depth gauges, binoculars, buffers, and pressure testers to identify cracks, burns, foreign object damage (FOD), and other structural defects.
  • Repair Evaluation: Evaluate engine components to determine repairability or replacement requirements by performing precision measurements and referencing micrometers and other testing equipment.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Support: Inspect engine parts to identify applicable non-destructive testing requirements and ensure compliance with inspection standards and procedures.
  • Technical Documentation & Systems: Utilize inventory and maintenance database systems to retrieve and document part numbers, serial numbers, manufacturing information, and repair records with accuracy and traceability.
  • Regulatory & Manual Compliance: Reference technical publications, OEM manuals, specification sheets, and regulatory requirements to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in the proper sequence and appropriately documented.
  • Facility & Shop Support: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by supporting general shop and facility housekeeping activities.

  • Required Experience:
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to occasionally lift 75+ pounds
  • Ability to perform intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, and prolonged periods of standing.
  • Participation in initial and random drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with the DOT and FAA guidelines.
  • 2 years or more of experience on gas turbine engines or possession of an FAA-issued Power Plant license for disassembling/assembling turbine engines and inspecting aircraft engine parts for physical defects.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical manuals, work specifications, and written instructions, as well as use micrometers and precision-measuring instruments.

  • Preferred Experience:
  • Current and valid Airframe and Rating.
  • 3 or more years as an aircraft mechanic at a FAA 121 or 135 operator

  • Skill, Licenses, & Certifications:
  • A current and valid Driver’s license is required.
  • Current and valid Powerplant Rating required.
  • Read and write in English, adhering to required standards in the performance of assigned work, and demonstrating competencies in accordance with FAA Regulations, OEM manuals, and related materials.
  • Familiar with AC engines, including knowledge of Federal Regulations, visual inspections, receiving inspections, engine testing procedures


  • Pay & Perks:

    Compensation is $29.00 - $35.00 per hour. This was established after performing market research and is aligned with our approach to compensation.
