Job Description

As the Salon Operations Manager at our Creative Hub & New Artist Salon, you will keep the Creative Hub and New Artist Salon organized and running smoothly, and ensure all visitors are warmly welcomed. You will take initiative and drive to show exceptional service every day. Success in this position requires an in-depth knowledge of salon and Juut Creative Hub Center operations, inventory, and use of artist booking and POS systems.

Key Responsibilities

Daymaking

Creative Hub Manager

  • Greet guests upon arrival, offer beverage, and notify appropriate department of visitor.
  • Organize, plan, and execute Creative Hub events, classes, and meetings.
  • Manage office and building supply ordering and inventory.
  • Schedule couriers and other shipments, receive and distribute incoming orders and deliveries.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure building repair and improvement needs are met.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in shared areas of the Creative Hub.
  • Fulfill book orders to salons and third parties, and ensure appropriate inventory levels.
  • Process online and phone gift card purchases, respond to balance inquiries, and resolve gift card issues.
  • Manage Creative Hub budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.

New Artist Salon Operations

  • Approve employee timecards and tip reports for payroll.
  • Work with the Guest Service & Reservations teams to manage artist books.
  • Maintain New Artist Salon station blueprint.
  • Manage New Artist Salon budget.
  • Assist Director of Education in the coordination of advanced education.

New Artist Salon Facility

  • Maintain the appearance of all guest areas. Dust shelves, water plants, and perform other basic housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels Aveda and non-Aveda products and salon supplies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Ensure retail schematics are properly set and maintained, and all signage is kept up-to-date and placed properly.

New Artist Support

  • Assist in the onboarding and salon placements of New Artists.
  • Facilitate new artist tool purchases.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly New Artist Scoreboard.

Guest Service Team Lead

  • Inspire Guest Service team to contribute as Daymakers.
  • Provide continuous, same-day feedback and guidance to team members.
  • Recognize outstanding performance and service.
  • Encourage individual and team development through training and educational opportunities.
  • Set clear standards consistent with Juut’s policies and processes, and hold your team and yourself accountable to those standards (including dress code)
  • Keep accurate records of staff training, reviews, and coaching.
  • Address all guest questions or concerns; be the point of contact for escalations.
  • Ensure guests are happy with their experience and service, in conjunction with educators.
  • Provide feedback to the education team regarding service failures or guest concerns; communicate proposed resolution to guest.
  • Ensure balanced coverage of the desk by the Guest Service team, filling hours as needed.
  • Manage Guest Service budget.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Industry-related certificate or other advanced schooling preferred.
  • 2+ years managing a team of 20+ people in a salon, spa, or retail environment (college degree in business, management, hospitality, or related program may be considered in lieu of experience)
  • Availability to work salon schedule: Tuesday - Saturday
  • Proficiency with common business software, including POS system
