This role sits at the intersection of engineering, education, and platform strategy, responsible for defining and scaling immersive, hands-on technical learning experiences that help learners build real-world skills. You will shape the vision for lab-based learning across a global technology upskilling platform, ensuring technical accuracy, scalability, and learner impact. The position blends deep technical leadership with product and content strategy, requiring someone who understands how modern software systems are built, deployed, and maintained. You will lead a specialized team responsible for designing and delivering reliable, production-grade lab environments. A key focus will be improving the systems, workflows, and tooling that power hands-on learning at scale. This is a high-impact leadership role driving innovation in experiential tech education and next-generation learning formats.
- Define and lead the technical strategy for hands-on labs, interactive environments, and experiential learning systems across the platform.
- Manage and develop a team responsible for building, validating, maintaining, and scaling technical lab experiences.
- Oversee lab production operations including intake, prioritization, capacity planning, delivery forecasting, and quality assurance processes.
- Partner with Engineering and Product teams to improve lab infrastructure, tooling, automation, and platform reliability.
- Establish and enforce technical standards for lab development, including environment configuration, testing, versioning, and maintenance.
- Lead technical design reviews and feasibility assessments to ensure accuracy, scalability, and long-term maintainability of lab environments.
- Drive workflow improvements through automation, reusable frameworks, and standardized production processes.
- Identify risks related to technical scope, platform constraints, and learner experience, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and learner-focused execution.
- 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical fields.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams, engineers, or cross-functional technical contributors.
- Strong hands-on understanding of software development, infrastructure, cloud environments, or technical platform operations.
- Proven ability to lead technical architecture discussions and evaluate trade-offs between scalability, reliability, and user experience.
- Experience building or operating complex technical systems, environments, or developer platforms.
- Background in technical education, developer enablement, or hands-on learning environments is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and their impact on software development, learning systems, and content creation workflows.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, distributed teams.
- Competitive annual base salary ranging from approximately $148,200 to $195,000 USD, depending on experience and location.
