Job Summary
The program manager directs daily operations of the outpatient mental health clinic, supervises the clinical and administrative staff, and ensures compliance will all regulatory standards. The position oversees patient care, quality metrics, budgets, and fosters community partnerships to support the service lines’ success.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the daily clinical operations of the behavioral health clinic.
- Oversee a team of clinicians by providing individual and group supervision with staff to discuss clinical methods, case status, and associated issues to evaluate and promote professional growth, ensure high-quality care, and review ongoing work.
- Tracks and monitors clinical documentation to assure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Conducts weekly case conferences for supervision and consultation with clinicians and interns; examines psychiatric case records and chooses cases for discussion; oversees staff in determining the social, emotional, and financial factors that contribute to problem behavior and mental or emotional disorders; approves alternative plans, case transfers, terminations, and assessments; monitors consultation activities; and oversees the assignment and reassignment of employee caseload.
- Responsible for daily reconciliation of charges generated from assigned service lines.
- Assures that all required prior authorizations are assigned, tracked, and applied accordingly.
- Plans staff schedules to ensure program coverage, assigns cases, leads staff meetings, offers training, assesses work performance, and supports disciplinary actions.
- Provides a range of direct clinical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and outreach services.
- Verifies adherence to pertinent Joint Commission and hospital standards as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
- Take part in the formulation or modification of guidelines, rules, policies, and objectives.
- Offers advice on behavioral health care services, policies, and plans to student interns and non-behavioral health care personnel.
- Supports the Behavioral Health Director with the development, execution, and assessment of programs.
- Take part in public relations and community outreach initiatives as assigned.
- Ensure that all quality metrics are met and reported to the designated entities.

Minimum Education/Certifications
Master’s degree in social work
Licensure/Certification: LCSW and Clinical Supervisor Certification required
Minimum Work Experience
3 years post master’s degree supervisory experience in the mental health field
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Exempt full-time on-site regular business hours 37.5-hour work week and must be willing to work holidays, weekends and provide additional coverage as needed.
Physical Demands Analysis:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients and equipment. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 lbs., requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
