Grounds/Watering at A Plus Tree – Portland, Oregon

Classification (E/NE): Non-Exempt, 40 hr/wk

Responsibilities:

Safelyoperatea large watering truck throughout the Portland metro areaFollow assigned daily and weekly watering routes with consistency and attention to detailWater newly planted andestablishingtrees according to contract requirements and seasonal needsUse an iPad and company software to log completed work, document service records, and track route progressAudit tree health and establishment conditions in the field, including signs of stress, damage, or declineIdentifyand document mulch needs, staking issues, and other basic establishment-related observationsReport concerns, site issues, or tree condition changes accurately andin a timely mannerMaintain organized,accuratedigital records of watering visits and field observationsConduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report maintenance or safety issuesRepresent A Plus Tree professionally while working independently in public and client-facing environmentsSupport fall planting season work if an extension opportunity is available and mutually desiredQualifications:

Must be 21 years of age or olderValid driver’s licenserequiredClean driving recordrequiredComfortable drivinga large trucksafely and confidently throughout the workdayAble to work independently, stay on route, and manage time effectively without direct supervisionComfortable using an iPad and digital software for field documentation and trackingStrong attention to detail and ability to follow contract requirements closelyDependable, punctual, and prepared to work outdoors in summer conditionsInterest in trees, horticulture, urban forestry, or outdoor field workAble to lift 50 to 75 pounds and perform physically active outdoor work throughout the dayPreferred Qualifications:

Previousexperience driving large trucks, utility vehicles, or route-based service vehiclesExperience in landscaping, irrigation, horticulture, nursery work, tree care, or other outdoor labor rolesFamiliarity with basic plant health observations, watering practices, or mulch applicationExperience using tablets, GPS routing, or field service softwareWork Environment

This is a full-time outdoor position that involves driving, walking job sites, working in varying weather conditions, and performing physical tasks throughout the day. Work is performed independently in the field and requires safe decision-making, route discipline, and accurate recordkeeping.
