About This Position

Regional Training Manager & Store Operations Lead Wisconsin Subs — Subway Franchise Group | Northern Wisconsin

About Wisconsin Subs
Wisconsin Subs is an independently owned and operated Subway franchise group with many locations across northern Wisconsin. We are in an active growth phase and are building the operational infrastructure to support it. This role is central to that effort.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly capable food service leader to fill a newly established Regional Training Manager position. This is a senior role designed for a professional who combines strong store-level operational expertise with a demonstrated ability to develop people, build training systems, and drive consistency across multiple locations.
The position carries dual responsibility. The Regional Training Manager will serve as the functional leader of a designated home store — while dedicating a significant portion of their schedule to training and development across the broader organization. Critically, this individual must be fully capable of operating their home store independently at the highest standard.
This is not an entry-level management position. We are looking for a professional who has already proven themselves in a demanding food service environment and is ready to apply that experience at an organizational level.

Core Responsibilities

Store Operations — approximately 2 to 3 days per week:
Provide functional leadership and oversight of the home store location
Manage labor scheduling, cost controls, and operational KPIs
Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor compliance
Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and brand standards without exception
Develop and support the Assistant Manager in their role and growth
Operate the store independently and at full standard when required, without reliance on support staff
Report directly to ownership on store performance, staffing, and operational needs

Regional Training — approximately 2 to 3 days per week:
Conduct structured training visits across all Wisconsin Subs locations
Train and develop store managers on standard operating procedures, leadership fundamentals, and performance expectations
Onboard and certify new Sandwich Artists to brand and franchise standards
Design, document, and implement repeatable training systems in collaboration with ownership
Assess operational performance across locations, identify deficiencies, and execute corrective action plans
Serve as the organizational standard-bearer — modeling and enforcing what excellence looks like at every level

Performance Expectations
Within the first 90 days, the Regional Training Manager is expected to:
Establish a clear baseline assessment of operational consistency across all locations
Implement or refine at least one standardized training process with documented outcomes
Demonstrate measurable improvement in the performance of their home store
Build credibility and trust with store-level management across the organization
Longer term, success in this role is defined by fully staffed, consistently performing locations, managers who are more capable and confident as a direct result of your involvement, and training systems that produce results independent of your physical presence.

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of food service management experience; multi-unit or training-focused experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, hold individuals accountable, and drive measurable operational improvement
Comprehensive knowledge of restaurant operations including food safety compliance, labor management, and cost control
Proven capacity to manage a store to full standard independently, without a complete management team in place
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting performance data and recommendations directly to ownership
Willingness and ability to travel regularly between locations throughout northern Wisconsin
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing priorities without loss of standards

What We Offer
A direct working relationship with ownership — decisions are made quickly and your input carries weight
Genuine authority to identify problems and implement solutions
Flexible home store location based on the strongest candidate
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
A clearly defined growth path within an expanding franchise organization that develops and promotes from within

To Apply
Applications are reviewed directly by ownership. Qualified candidates will be contacted promptly for an introductory conversation.
In your application, please include a brief statement describing your approach to developing people and building operational consistency across a team or organization. This is required and will be the first thing we read.
