About This Position

Description:

Position Title: Clinic Assistant

Department: Client Services

Accountable to: Director of Nursing and Sr. Director of Client Services

FLSA Status: Non-exempt / Full-time (32 hours per week)

Results Statement: I am accountable for producing the following results:

Assistant performs a variety of clinical and administrative tasks that promote optimum patient care and satisfaction while enhancing provider and clinic effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  1. Patient Care
  • Perform appropriate aspects of patient care including assisting with all client paperwork,
  • signatures and preparation of medical chart.
  • Collects appropriate patient specimens for testing, including swabs, urine and blood
  • Chaperone and assist providers during exams/procedures as needed.
  • Performs point of care testing and shares results with patient
  • Assists with discharge of patient confirming appropriate paperwork is completed
  • Provides patient health counseling and instruction
  • Recognizes emergency situations, seeks assistance and intervenes appropriately
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
  1. Administration
  • Participate in prayer as an integral part of the day-to-day operation of the Clinic with other staff members and volunteers
  • In the absence of a volunteer Receptionist, performs receptionist duties, including answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and patient intake procedures
  • Documents data and assessments in the patient record including all forms and logs
  • Keeps lab and exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly including quality control of testing
  • supplies and medications and placing orders as needed
  • Faxes medical records, reports and other documents according to HIPAA regulations
  • Assist in entering client data into Waycool database system in a timely manner
  • Send Monthly Report to Director of Nursing as requested
  1. Continuing Education
  • Complies with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements including CPR certification
  • Participates in quality assurance activities and all training seminars (OSHA, volunteer in-services, staff trainings/retreats and others)
  1. Miscellaneous Duties
  • Attend regular organizational meetings of CLARITY
  • Assists in activities to promote Clarity Testing Clinic in the community

Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing, Senior Director of

Client Services or CEO

Essential Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Has minimum training of a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited CNA or MA program is preferred but not required
  • Has one year of work experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
  • Has one year of experience as a volunteer in some ministry capacity
  • Exhibits skill in interpersonal communication and ability to relate to a diverse clientele, as well as other medical professionals
  • Self-motivated, dependable, responsible and able to establish priorities
  • Must have basic computer knowledge as well as experience using Word and Excel

Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include: sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time; operating office equipment; and lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Visual Acuity; ability to see and hear within normal parameters, must use hands and fingers to use keyboard and mouse; operate equipment or controls; reach above shoulder heights, below the waist; or lift to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required.
