We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic After School Assistant to support SouthLake Christian Academy’s students in Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade following the regular school day. This role supports students’ social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development through structured activities, supervision, and positive Christian mentorship.

Schedule:
• Reports to the Director of Afterschool and Enrichment Programs
• Approximately 25 hours per week
• Flexible schedule; hours may vary based on program needs

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times
• Lead and assist with age-appropriate activities such as homework time, games, crafts, and outdoor play
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment rooted in Christian values
• Model Christ-like behavior through kindness, patience, and integrity
• Support students with homework and encourage good study habits
• Maintain orderly afterschool spaces
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Assist with snack distribution and cleanup as needed
• Address behavioral concerns with consistency and grace
• Give evidence of a Biblical worldview and a personal spiritual commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
• Be committed to and in agreement with the philosophy and objectives of SouthLake Christian Academy.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework in education or related field preferred)
• Experience working with children (elementary age preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage groups of children in a structured setting
• Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Alignment with the school’s Christian mission and values

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors
• Frequent standing, walking, and engaging in physical activities for extended periods

Work Schedule:
• Part-time; typically weekday afternoons during the school year
• Some summer opportunities with school supported summer camps

Additional Expectations:
• Participate in staff meetings or training as required
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Will be expected to complete CPR / First Aid training (provided by the school)
