Position Summary
Rise Academy is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Advancement Administrative Assistant to support the school’s fundraising and development efforts. This part-time role provides administrative and operational support to the Head of School and Board Chair, and development function, helping to ensure strong donor engagement, accurate data management, and successful execution of fundraising initiatives and events.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Executive Support
- Manage scheduling, calendars, and meeting coordination for development-related activities
- Prepare meeting agendas, materials, and take/distribute meeting minutes
- Draft, proofread, and send professional correspondence including donor communications
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries
Donor Relations & Data Management
- Maintain and update donor records in the database with accuracy and confidentiality
- Process donations and assist with tracking contributions and acknowledgments
- Support donor stewardship efforts and engagement activities
- Assist with donor research and reporting
Development & Event Support
- Provide administrative support for fundraising initiatives and campaigns
- Assist with planning and execution of donor events and school-related functions
- Coordinate logistics for donor meetings, visits, and tours
- Support preparation of development reports and materials
- Experience supporting events, fundraising, or development operations
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic fundraising principles and donor stewardship practices with an emphasis on administrative support
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- High level of professionalism and discretion with sensitive information
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to excellent customer service
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
- 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or school setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, Givebutter)
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
