About the Role:
The Service Tech Apprentice in the pool industry plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance, repair, and installation of our customers swimming pools and related equipment. This position is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience under the guidance of experienced technicians, enabling the apprentice to develop technical expertise in pool systems, water chemistry, and equipment troubleshooting. The apprentice will contribute to ensuring pools operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, enhancing customer satisfaction and safety. Over time, the role aims to build a foundation for a skilled service technician capable of independently managing service calls and complex repairs. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and willingness to learn technical skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience or coursework related to pool maintenance, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Familiarity with water chemistry and pool sanitation principles.
- Certification in pool operation or water treatment (e.g., CPO certification).
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist experienced service technicians with routine pool maintenance tasks including cleaning, chemical balancing, and equipment inspections.
- Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot common pool equipment issues such as pumps, filters, heaters, and automation systems.
- Support the installation and repair of pool equipment under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers regarding service updates and recommendations.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to develop technical knowledge and customer service skills.
