Position Summary

The Hotel Houseman plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the hotel’s public spaces, guest corridors, and back-of-house areas. This position also supports room attendants by delivering supplies, assisting with cleaning tasks, and responding to guest needs. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and committed to upholding Sonesta’s service and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Public Area & Facility Maintenance

• Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and restrooms.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout the property.
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas including walkways, entryways, and pool or patio areas

Support for Housekeeping Team

• Deliver linens, towels, and supplies to room attendants.
• Assist in removing used linens and trash from guest rooms and housekeeping carts.
• Help keep housekeeping closets neat, organized, and stocked.
• Support deep cleaning projects and seasonal tasks.

Guest Service & Safety

• Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to management immediately.
• Follow all Sonesta safety, security, and cleanliness policies.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. at times.
• Stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Perform repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, and lifting.

Work Schedule

• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, is required.
• Schedules may vary based on hotel occupancy and business needs.
