About This Position
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join the team. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!
About the area: El Dorado Springs is a progressive, full-service city in Southwest Missouri known for its rich history and family-friendly atmosphere. It's the largest city in Cedar County and is centered around a spring believed to have healing properties. The city's location between Kansas City, Springfield, and Joplin provides easy access to various amenities, including the Wayside Inn Museum, the Opera House Cinema, and El Dorado Springs City Park.
About the department: Equipped with specialized technologies, including Balance Master, VitalStim, and Anodyne, the Rehab Services Department works closely with physicians to provide acute and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to restore the functional abilities of patients. Emphasis is placed on collaboration and teamwork, and new therapists are encouraged to grow their skills through professional development and mentorship. The department routinely finishes within the 90th percentile or better in the nation for patient satisfaction.
A typical day includes: Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating therapy treatments utilizing appropriate equipment, supplies, and procedures.
- Analyze patients' needs to help design care
- Follow plan-of-care established by therapists
- Instruct patients / caregivers on home plans
- Document relevant and appropriate information for care planning
Job Requirements:
- Education: Completion of an approved Occupational Therapist Assistant Program or other certification program recognized by the State Board of Healing Arts
- Experience: New grads welcome! 1 year of experience preferred
- Skills: Customer service, time-management, problem-solving, communication
- Licensure/Certification: Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board
- Physical: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs. with patient and/or equipment assistance; carry up to 35 lbs.
The position is full-time days.
