The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures within the scope defined by Regulatory and Departmental QC standards. The MRI Technologist is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Trade/Vocational training in Radiologic Technology
  • At least 1 year general radiology experience

Preferred:

  • ARMRIT certification

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • NJ State License in Radiography
  • AART certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working, weekend coverage

  • Monday coverage 10am-6pm

  • Per Diem (PD)

Essential Functions:

  • Adapts to varying work requirements dependent upon departmental need
  • Addresses patient and medical staff concerns
  • Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and MRI tables
  • Assists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriate
  • Assists the physician in the administration of contrast media required for procedures
  • Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis
  • Checks requisition for physician notations and/or special instructions
  • Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills
  • Describes the nature and time requirements of the requested examination to the patient, at an age-appropriate level
  • Identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor/charge staff; offers solutions as appropriate
  • Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures working with patients ranging in age from neo-natal to geriatric
  • Positions patient to obtain desired views; applies immobilization devices as required
  • Recognizes emergency situation, initiates code procedures
