SLA at Gem – Brooklyn, New York

We are seeking a highly experienced Low Voltage / Field Technician to support and maintain technology infrastructure across multiple retail locations throughout the Metro NYC area (5 Boro’s and Eastern Long Island). This is a full-time, field-based position ideal for a technician who takes pride in clean installations, organized infrastructure, and long-term stability.

This role supports 28+ active retail locations and requires regular travel between stores. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in live retail environments.

· Install, route, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and related structured cabling systems)

· Maintain clean cable management standards including proper labeling, patch panels, and rack organization

· Build, organize, and maintain IT racks and equipment layouts

· Install conduit/pipe for protected cable runs where required

· Install and mount IP cameras and related surveillance hardware

· Install network equipment (switches, wireless access points, hotspots, etc.)

· Install physical access control hardware (card readers, magnetic locks, electric strikes – installation only)

· Install and mount computers, TVs, displays, peripherals, and store technology devices

· Install, replace, and relocate payment terminals and credit card machines

· Organize, relocate, and clean up store wiring and technology rooms

· Perform general physical IT and infrastructure tasks as needed

· Strong hands-on experience in low-voltage / structured cabling installations· Proven expertise with cable terminations, device wiring, and proper cable type selection· Demonstrated ability to maintain clean, professional IT rack builds· Experience installing conduit and mounting hardware· Comfortable working independently in field environments· Strong attention to detail and high standards for neatness and organization· Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with IT leadership and management· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required· Comfortable working on ladders and at heights· Ability to lift and move equipment as needed

• Field-based role with frequent travel across Metro NYC and Long Island • Work performed in active retail store environments • Long-term, stable position (not project-based or temporary) • Full-time schedule
