About This Position
Do you want to help people see better, look better, and feel better? Are you currently a medical assistant looking to further your career in vision care? We are seeking an Epic Technician to join our clinic team! The ideal candidate enjoys repetitive motions and will be trained on the Epic refracting unit (refracting program, auto refractor, keratometer, and automatic lensometer).

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seat each patient at the unit and explain the refracting process.
Check incoming vision prior to starting the Epic refraction program.
Instill drops for the use of TonoPen and dilation if needed.
Display an understanding of refractometry and retinoscopy.
Perform specific tests requested by doctors.
Present doctors with accurate numbers and stated patient preferences.
Spend 10 minutes or less with each patient.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and NextGen (EHR).
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Six months to one-year related experience and/or technical school training.
High school diploma/GED.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an ophthalmology setting. This is a full-time position with a benefits package. Hourly rate will be determined based on experience and training of the candidate. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
POSITION LOCATION: EYE-Q Vision Care practice sites are located in Clovis, Fresno, and Selma.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (may work occasional Saturdays).
PAY RANGE: $21.00 - $25.72 per hour depending on skills, experience, and certifications.
