Agronomy Billing Specialist at Mid Kansas Cooperative – Inman, Kansas

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for invoicing all agronomy transactions. Additional responsibilities may include: filling out work orders, copying maps, taking customer orders, filing, taking messages for the Agronomy Operations Manager or other agronomy department staff, and assisting with Cooperative Finance program questions (CFA). This position will also assist the Agronomy Operations Manager with report preparation and office documents. This employee will frequently be the first contact for customers calling in to the office or walking into the office. They are expected to conduct their responsibilities in a professional manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and provide outstanding customer service. This employee will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the entire cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Current knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP/AgWorks software pertaining to agronomy billings.
2. Current knowledge of Microsoft Office and AgTrax(grain) software also beneficial.
3. Knowledge of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer products.
4. Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
5. Must be accurate and detail oriented.
6. Computer and data entry skills.
7. Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
8. Ability to deal with emotional customers and help resolve complaints.
9. Frequently lift or move 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Appropriate personal protective equipment in restrictive areas.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

A high school degree with two years of college level accounting or equivalent experience.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Perform GP/AgWorks accounting for all locations assigned including invoicing work orders for custom applications and agronomy products.
2. Give out prices for agronomy products to callers.
3. Enter invoices and perform account maintenance for agronomy transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
4. Receiving/transferring of agronomy inventory within AgWorks/GP for vendor deliveries or intercompany transfers.
5. Assist with agronomy inventory reconciliations.
6. Assist with orders over the phone for agronomy services.
7. Greet customers promptly and courteously with a friendly smile and answer incoming calls in a professional and courteous tone. Assist walk in customers. Thank all customers for their business.
8. Work with agronomy customers to resolve billing problems and report any problems to Agronomy Operations Manager.
9. Actively work to increase personal knowledge and skills.
10. Attend training sessions as directed by Manager.
11. Complete special projects assigned by Manager.
