Who we want…
A qualified candidate shall have:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in strategic sourcing or bachelor’s degree (equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered)
- Familiarity with any of the following:
- Electrical / Switchgear
- Mechanical / HVAC
- Plumbing / Piping & Equipment
- Boilers / Air Compressors
- Industrial / Tanks / Pumps
- Specialty Process Equipment
- Construction Materials – Roofing, Steel, Concrete, etc.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A desire to grow their skills and abilities within the department
- Experience and basic command of the most recent versions of Microsoft Office
- Ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, and email
- Ability to adapt to new software, such as Procore, Smartsheet, CMIC, Building Connected, Bluebeam, PowerBI (experience with listed softwares is preferred but not required)

Qualifications
What we expect…
This role primarily supports the Strategic Sourcing Team (Assistant Category Managers, Category Managers), which source equipment/materials and provide budgets, bid evaluations, and supplier recommendations to our operational procurement team on projects. Responsibilities are expected to include but are not limited to the following:
- Support strategic sourcing team, focusing on equipment and material procurement, to fulfill Gray’s direct procurement responsibilities on large industrial construction projects
- Understand the scope and range of suppliers/vendors across all categories
- Shadow assistant category managers during the relationship development process
- Awareness of contractual needs of doing business with suppliers (including general knowledge of NDAs, MPAs, T&C, etc.)
- Evaluate bids and provide support for Assistant Category Managers that provide bid leveling analysis for both commercial and technical scope, working with appropriate technical and contract team members
- Become familiar with basic knowledge of all products to be sourced across all categories
- Follow best practices established by procurement leadership, to ensure all equipment is purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints
- Participate in continuous improvement of procurement processes and policies to accommodate changing organizational needs and market conditions
