Position Summary

Waseyabek is looking for a driven and very organized individual to manage R&D projects at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Albany, OR. The Project Manager reports directly to the R&D Site Manager and will be responsible for developing project plans from input received from the Engineering, Operations, Safety and Quality Assurance Departments. The individual will also monitor work progress, provide project updates, manage scope-creep, and coordinate material purchases to ensure projects are completed on time and under budget.

Responsibilities:· Develop Project Management Plans that detail project scope, team, cost estimate, schedule milestones and risks/mitigations.

· Work with planner/schedulers to create, update and adjust project schedules.

· Effectively lead routine project status meetings with team members, subcontractors and federal stakeholders using internet videoconferencing products such as Microsoft Teams.

· Provide rolling cost forecasts for both labor and materials for all active projects.

· Generate subcontractor statement-of-work documents (MSWord) & purchase requests.

· Establish and maintain project dashboards (MSExcel) that provide a visual representation of project status.

· Collaborate with peers, and federal stakeholders to ensure all life cycle activities are accurately identified, planned, monitored, and controlled. Identify and train back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.

· Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed by the leader.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Technical or Management-based Bachelor’s degree.

· Minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience in project management.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Experience with work estimating, scheduling, budgeting and planning.

· Excellent problem-solving, decision making, and attention to detail.

· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

· Ability to pass a background investigation, including but not limited to nationwide criminal record search, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by the contract.

· United States citizenship is required to work on a federal contract and will be electronically verified via E-Verify.

· Steward the organizational culture with a focus on safety, teamwork, and a commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.

· Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Training Certification from PMI or similar organization related to Project Management.

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a Master’s degree in Project Management.

· Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.

Physical Requirements:

This position operates in an on-site facility shop and may require standing for extended periods of time. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as protective suit, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel Requirements:

Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time. The travel may be local or national and may be by car, rail, or air.
