About This Position
The Head of Waterfront—working under the direction of the Director and Assistant Director ensures the general safety of campers and staff at the waterfront, to support waterfront staff in the implementation of programming and proper staff/camper ratios. Working collaboratively with Program Coordinator and Boat Dock Coordinator. Ohana’s waterfront is open from 1-5pm daily with the exception of Saturdays. Campers consist of all family members staying as guests at Ohana Family Camp; ages range from infants to the elderly. Key Availability is June 10th to August 20th with opportunity to work from Memorial Day Weekend through October 18th

Essential Job Functions:
1. Plan, direct, and supervise safe and fun waterfront programming
· Oversee waterfront activities on a day-to-day basis.
· Ensure that ACA standards and guidelines from Aloha Foundation waterfront safety are being followed.
· Help mentor staff to deliver creative program activities.
· Work with the Program Coordinator on the facilitation of feedback for waterfront staff
2. Supervise waterfront staff
· Assist in the planning and implementation of waterfront staff training.
· Run Waterfront safety meeting for all camp during Staff Training
· Train waterfront staff in their waterfront responsibilities.
· Supervise waterfront staff to provide a safe and high-quality program.
· Supervise waterfront emergency Protocols and Trainings
3. Manage the physical facilities and equipment in the waterfront program area
· Help set up the waterfront area prior to and during staff training.
· Coordinate scheduling with the Program Coordinator on daily coverage.
· Oversee initial and end-of-season inventory, and store equipment for safety.
· Help work with waterfront staff to check equipment and submit requests for repairs.
· Conduct a daily check of equipment for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.
· Submit orders for equipment and supplies when needed, ensuring timely arrival of materials.
Requirements:Key Availability is June 10th to August 20th with opportunity to work from Memorial Day Weekend through October 18th
Job Requirements
· Previous experience in residential camping.
· Current certification in first aid and CPR.
· Current certification in Lifeguard Training.
· Prior experience in the development and delivery of recreational programs.
· Experience in supervising others
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Training and experience in a variety of program activities offered at the camp.
· Ability to schedule and supervise staff.
· Desire and ability to work with children and adults outdoors.
Physical Aspects of the Job:
· Ability to communicate and work with groups participating (age and skill levels) and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff.
· Ability to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques.

· Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
· Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers.
