PHLEBOTOMIST at Southeastern Health – Lumberton, North Carolina

Position Summary

Performs a variety of specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices.

Instructs patients on proper preparation/collection for tests ordered and distributes collection containers when necessary

Processes specimens for testing including identifying; sorting; aliquoting; centrifuging and labeling specimens appropriately

Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy.

Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems

Education, Credential, Training, and Experience
Minimum Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is required
• Previous experience as a phlebotomist minimum 1 year
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable

Preferred: Certified through ASCP or ASPT upon hire.
