POSITION SUMMARY:
The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging instruction aligned with the Massachusetts state standards and fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Development
Develop and implement engaging, rigorous math lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Curriculum Frameworks
Instruction
Deliver effective, differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners
Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment
Assessment
Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress
Adjust instruction based on data to improve student outcomes
Technology Integration
Integrate instructional technology to enhance learning and build digital literacy
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and strengthen instructional practices
Communication
Maintain open, proactive communication with students, families, and colleagues to support student success and a strong school community
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Math, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Must hold or be eligible for Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) licensure in Middle School Mathematics (Grades 5–8) or Mathematics (Grades 8–12)).
Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement required (or must be obtained within the first year of employment).
Experience
Prior classroom teaching experience required; experience in Grades 5–8 preferred.
Demonstrated success teaching Mathematics.
Familiarity with the Mathematics Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of Math instruction practices.
Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including ELs and students with special education plans.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement, equity, and culturally responsive teaching.
Authorization
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in a school and office setting.
Some travel between schools may be required.
Occasional evening and weekend events for Board of Trustee meetings, parent meetings, college nights, academic and/or athletic events, or professional development may be necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and perform repetitive motions.
Frequent bending, crouching, stooping, and stretching.
Standing or walking for the entirety of an 8-hour shift.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and attention to detail.

Compensation and Benefits:
