About This Position

Job Purpose:

Responsible for assisting the Marketing Manager in developing company-wide marketing communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization, its products, and services. Responsible for website and social media management. Research and analyze customer engagement and feedback from all media channels and report information back to the manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the domestic and international trade show calendar, coordinating participation with Sales and Service teams; procures, maintains, and organizes trade show materials and displays, ensuring artwork and materials are up to date to support successful events.
  • Responsible for placing website content, updates, management, and maintenance. Makes recommendations of new technologies to improve website traffic, interactivity, and user experience.
  • Manages content and maintenance of all company social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Research new media channels and make recommendations to the manager.
  • Research data related to the current product market, customer demographics and interest, social media input, and other factors influencing product demand.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes online and offline customer engagement data to identify trends, forecast marketing and sales activity, and develop actionable insights; prepares reports, presentations, and recommendations for management based on research findings.
  • Communicates with Sales and Service teams and international distributors to help develop and deliver their marketing and promotional materials.
  • Provides marketing communications support and project management.
  • Assists in developing ways to communicate marketing messages through conception and development of such material as printed/digital product fact sheets, brochures, case studies, newsletter articles, print advertising, and delivery through all appropriate media – including direct mail, email, web, video, webinars, blogs, white papers, e-publications, and at trade shows.
  • Coordinate photo shoots of new products and any internal company campaigns
  • Execute campaigns using internal resources and vendors.
  • Obtain product or service information by collaborating with Sales, Service, International Distributors, and Product Managers about sales, customers, and competitors, as well as from internal operations, subject matter experts, and/or outside resources.
  • Ensure branding standards and marketing messaging are consistent with company standards that help drive key messages in an impactful way.
  • Establishes and maintains a Bergkamp digital library to include all finished artwork, photographs, videos and other graphic material owned and used by Bergkamp.
  • Develops, manages and executes internal and external communications plans based upon operational direction given by Marketing Manager.
  • Contributes to team effort by actively participating in team meetings.
  • Stays informed of industry, marketing, social media, and customer trends to ensure Bergkamp marketing communications are consistent with the current state of the art.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Prepare and report internal communication metrics on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for trade show materials and events.
  • Assist human resources with internal company events as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. An Associate’s Degree or at least 5 years equivalent experience in marketing, communications, business, advertising or other related field or experience. Construction, Asphalt, Emulsion, Manufacturing industry or related experience preferred but not necessary
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, coworkers and management.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, with outstanding editing skills for print and electronic media.
  4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to travel, primarily domestically twenty-five (25) percent of the time.
  6. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  7. A good understanding of graphic applications, image/media files, web media/interactive marketing, etc.
  8. Working knowledge of social media; both the trends and business realities as they relate to corporate communications.
  9. Ability to read and accurately interpret documents such as invoices, procedure manuals, and job instructions.
  10. Provide an existing body of work that demonstrates an ability to clearly communicate a complex message or idea and that demonstrates creative development or the ability to manage a creative development process.
  11. Demonstrates strong foundational skills, including basic mathematical calculations (percentages, proportions, and decimals), sound judgment and common-sense problem solving, proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard department equipment (computer, cameras, video equipment, copier, fax, and phone), the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
