About This Position
NCE is looking for a Financial Aid Representative. This position provides applicants with assistance in completing Financial Aid (FA) applications and determines eligibility. Packages students, prepares FA files. Follows regulations in disbursement of FA. Processes status changes. Promotes default management and helps students understand repayment responsibilities.
What does a Financial Aid Representative do? (not all inclusive)
· Completes student files prior to Financial Aid Director’s review to ensure files contain accurate documentation.
· Performs the initial 20-minute estimate process for all prospective students, which includes a power point presentation, gathering of information from the prospect to calculate an estimate, the presentation of the cost estimate to the prospect, and reviewing what is required to enroll.
· Accesses NSLDS to review prior loan/grant information. Prints copy for file, (to perform this essential function of the job, employee cannot have defaulted on a student loan in the past).
·· Reviews FAFSA process with student – answers all questions that arise while the student is completing the FAFSA via “FAFSA on the Web” (http://www.studentaid.gov).
· Completes packaging in CampusNexus for enrolled students, which includes scheduling all available financial aid to meet the students’ needs and completing all necessary documentation.
· Reviews all ISIRs for enrollments for accuracy and resolve any issues (verification, c-code).
· Ensures that New Start Report reflects that all new starts have been packaged with federal aid, cash, or alternative funding.
· Schedules all financial aid awards and cash payments for first year students in CampusNexus.
· Monitors PLUS denials and awards unsubsidized loans. Revises award letter, notifies student, schedules loan in CampusNexus, and resubmits file to File Review Team.
· Provides counseling to students to ensure an understanding of financial aid basics.

Requirements:· High school diploma required.
· Some college or vocational coursework is preferred.
· Two or more years of related work experience preferred.
· Experience working with government forms and lending terminology is essential.
