Job Costing Analyst at Black Hills Exteriors – Rapid City, South Dakota

The Project Accounting Assistant supports daily business operations by ensuring accurate documentation, smooth communication, and effective coordination across sales, production, and accounting teams. This role plays a key part in maintaining organized project records, supporting job cost tracking, and helping projects move efficiently from setup through closeout.

This position is ideal for someone early in their accounting or operations career who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within a construction or home services environment.

What You’ll Do

• Support project operations by tracking job costs, budgets, and project financials in ERP/CRM systems
• Review and maintain complete project documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and change orders
• Assist with job setup, scheduling coordination, and labor time tracking
• Support purchase order processing, invoicing, and basic job cost reconciliation
• Coordinate subcontractor compliance documentation (COIs, W-9s, lien waivers)
• Generate routine project and performance reports
• Serve as a liaison between sales, production, accounting, and leadership
• Ensure project files are accurate, complete, and audit-ready prior to financial close

• 2–4 years of admin, accounting support, or operations experience
• Construction or service-based industry experience preferred
• Exposure to HR support, expense management, or project coordination.
• Notary Public certification or administrative training credentials.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Comfortable working in Excel and business systems (ERP/CRM a plus)
• Reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
