About This Position

Purpose: The primary function of this job is to provide outstanding service to members by coordinating service delivery to members in the office, demonstrating the use of service delivery systems, promoting & referring Credit Union services and products to new and existing members, and by fully using job-relevant technical skills, maintaining/updating technical skills, and seeking to enhance service skills. This position requires that the individual be very comfortable in a public contact position and requires the employee to demonstrate a general knowledge of the Associate Banker duties. All front-office positions are high visibility/high volume and require the ability to make decisions within the established guidelines, the willingness to work within a sales environment, and the ability to be a team player in an organization that values the spirit of teamwork.

Required Core Positions Functions

Responsible for meeting established sales goals for WEFF products and servicesResponsible for producing sales referrals for new accounts and loans as assignedUtilize empowerment matrixFollow WEFF’s service guidelinesPossess thorough knowledge of all banking products and servicesExplain Credit Union products/services to membersRefer members to appropriate departments as requiredProcess member account inquiries and respond to member problemsAssist in end-of-day processingAdhere to work environment maintenance standardsConduct Teller transactions in person and over videoHigh degree of tech knowledge to include use of video conferencing, on-line, mobile banking, use of virtual meeting such as teams and WebEx.Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned by management Engage in professional, positive, and productive communication with members who use Interactive Teller MachinesActively educate members about products and services by asking appropriate questions, uncovering member needs, and recommending solutionsProvide guidance on digital tools and services to enhance the member experienceGreet members in branch locations and determine the nature of member’s businessEnsure members receive service in a timely mannerDemonstrate a general knowledge of all Associate Banker duties, including check processing/hold policies and all back-office processes and functionsDemonstrate knowledge of Phone Service, Service Support, and Sales Support job functions

Responsible for compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and Credit Union procedures related to completion and filing of Currency Transaction ReportsMonitor the lobby to identify potential security risksNotarize documents for members and staffCrosstrain to learn other front-office functionsAssist in maintaining membership records confidentiallyPerform specific and delegated duties as assigned by managementProcess vault transactions and maintain vault funds as assigned by managementProcess new membership applications, open, and activate savings, checking and other savings related accounts.
Provide excellent member service at all timesEnsure confidentiality of member account informationProcess and post monetary and related transactionsProcess checks and apply appropriate holdsFollow established cash drawer and cash handling proceduresReconcile/balance cash and transactions within guidelinesFollow established security proceduresProcess night drop and mail depositsDeter fraud whenever possibleResponsible for resolving member inquiries and account disputesDemonstrate the use of service delivery systems and direct members to the appropriate delivery channelsOpen additional savings-products using established proceduresCross-sell products/services when appropriateProvide error resolution and effectively solve account service issuesActivate new accounts and close existing accounts as neededEffectively and accurately perform ITM functions, including processing deposits to savings, checking and other savings accounts.Monitor deposit amounts, examine documents for endorsement and negotiability, disburse cash, receive loan payments, and process transfers between accounts.Guide members through self-service account maintenance requests via digital channels.Process Shared Branch transactionsProcess basic IRA transactions

Education/Experience

  • High school level of language, math, and reasoning skills
  • Two years' experience in a related field with equal responsibilities
  • Formal training should be supplemented with continuing internal and external education and self-development programs
