Position Overview

Friday Workforce Solutions is seeking a dependable Material Handler/Forklift Operator for a manufacturing facility in Mountain Home, NC. This position involves operating a sit-down forklift, moving materials throughout the facility, and supporting daily production and packaging operations. The ideal candidate has previous forklift experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, unload, and stage materials.

• Operate packaging equipment, including hoists and material-handling equipment.

• Follow work orders and computerized production instructions.

• Verify product quantities, weights, labels, and material information.

• Complete forklift inspections and report equipment or safety concerns.

• Maintain accurate material-handling records using basic computer systems.

• Safely handle materials weighing up to 5060 pounds occasionally.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Communicate damaged materials, equipment issues, and production concerns to supervisors.

• Assist with additional warehouse and production duties as needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of forklift operating experience.

• Sit-down forklift experience preferred.

• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or material-handling experience preferred.

• Basic computer and math skills.

• Ability to read and follow work orders and instructions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally handle heavier materials with assistance.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.

• Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.

• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
