About This Position

Equitable Bank is looking for an experienced mortgage lending assistant to join our North Platte team. This position is a full-time position, hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Summary:

Performs various support duties pertinent to meeting the needs of internal and external customers, which include reviewing and completing the preparation of loan closing papers and loan disclosures.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Maintain correspondence on behalf of Loan Officers.
  • Provide support to other areas as needed.
  • Responsible for originating data entry of new loans.
  • Funding of new loans.
  • Order and track third-party services such as credit reports, appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and verifications of employment/assets.
  • Assist with workflow processes for operational effectiveness.
  • Attend scheduled planning sessions within credit administration and loan operations.
  • Act as a liaison between loan officers, underwriters, closing agents, and borrowers to facilitate the loan process.
  • Assembles loan files under approved procedures, and uploads files and related documentation for scanning.
  • Prepare loan files in accordance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and internal underwriting guidelines for secondary market loans.
  • Processes loan closings; i.e., coordinates appropriate actions with the title company, including documents to be recorded, pays all bills associated with closing.
  • Works with loan officers to maintain loan tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy of all account information & documentation pertinent to consumer accounts.
  • Orders and monitors all documentation, i.e., credit reports, loan registers, loan commitments, CRA documentation, etc.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and phone.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and ensure accurate and timely completion of all tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
