About This Position

Summary & Purpose (Position Summary)

The Production Junior Planner is responsible for creating and managing production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resources and minimizing costs. This role involves coordinating with various departments, analyzing production data, and ensuring timely delivery of products to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to gather demand forecasts, assess market conditions, and adjust production plans accordingly.
  • Analyze production capacity, material availability, and resource constraints to optimize production schedules and maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components for production.
  • Monitor production progress and track key performance metrics, such as production output, cycle times, and inventory levels, to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate production schedules and priorities to production teams and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of production goals and deadlines.
  • Coordinate production changeovers, setups, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization.
  • Evaluate production processes and workflow layouts to identify opportunities for optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions to address production-related issues, resolve conflicts.
  • Maintain accurate records of production schedules, work orders, inventory transactions, and other production-related documentation.

Requirements

  • Certifications like Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Six Sigma are plus but not needed.
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or SAP/ERP systems is a plus. Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex production data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of production processes, manufacturing principles, and lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure to meet production goals.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Physical Demands

  • Office environment with regular use of computers and office equipment.
  • Standard office hours, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet production deadlines.
