      • Responsible for inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting various types of respiratory equipment.
      • Responsible for cleaning, changing and sterilizing equipment as defined by departmental policies.
      • Participates in the orientation of new employees and students.
      • Maintains assigned work area in an organized and safe environment.
      • Attends and participates in department inservices and staff meetings.
      • Responsible for stocking and maintaining supplies in RT storerooms, including pertinent paperwork in each patient care area.
      • Responsible for computerized inventory ordering, and daily interaction with Corporate Purchasing buying agents.
      • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining oxygen cylinders on a daily basis.
      • Assists with entering department charges during times of increased workload.
      • Assists with the transporting ventilators when moving patients to and from areas within the hospital.
      • Responsible for picking up dirty ventilators, and croup tents from the patient care units as requested.
      • Interacts with the Bio-Med department to assure that equipment is serviced in a timely manner.
      • Communicates any problems with the department Director.
      • Responsible for “tagging” equipment that has malfunctioned, transports to Bio-Med department, and communicates problems to the technicians as necessary.
