About the Role:

The School Age Site Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and program delivery at a school-age childcare site, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This role involves managing staff, coordinating activities, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. The Site Lead acts as a liaison between parents, staff, and the broader organization to foster clear communication and community involvement. They play a critical role in developing and implementing age-appropriate educational and recreational programs that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development. Ultimately, the Site Lead ensures that every child receives high-quality care and enrichment during out-of-school hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with school-age children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a childcare or youth program environment.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate programming for school-age children.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience with program planning and curriculum development for school-age children.
  • Familiarity with state and local childcare licensing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong background in conflict resolution and behavior management techniques.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support site staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management to maintain a motivated and effective team.
  • Develop, plan, and implement daily activities and curriculum that align with developmental goals and organizational standards.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by enforcing health, safety, and emergency procedures consistently.
  • Maintain accurate records related to attendance, incidents, and program activities, and prepare reports as required.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on their children’s progress and address any concerns.
  • Coordinate with school officials and community partners to enhance program resources and opportunities.
  • Manage site budget and resources efficiently to support program needs and organizational goals.

Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with children, parents, staff, and community partners, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. The ability to plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities requires creativity and knowledge of child development. Additionally, proficiency in record-keeping and basic budgeting supports compliance and resource management, ensuring the program runs efficiently and meets all regulatory standards.
