Valuation Analyst at Tax Management Associates – Lawrenceville, Georgia

Tax Management Associates (TMA) is looking for a highly motivated, professional, positive, team player, to join the Administrative Outsourcing team in Lawrenceville, Georgia in the role of Personal Property Account Manager. This is a full-time position working onsite with our local government client, the Gwinnett County Tax Assessor’s Office in the Personal Property Division.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Personal Property appraisal practices and techniques. Georgia Appraisal certification is not required but highly desired.

Candidate must have critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently as well as within a collaborative environment, have strong oral and written communication skills, be detail oriented and can multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience in personal property appraisal practices and techniques is preferred.
• Georgia Appraisal certification is highly desired but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, is highly beneficial.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Outsourcing staff, managing workload, and reviewing completed work for compliance with procedures.
• Maintain and organize the department email account to ensure inquiries are assigned and completed promptly.
• Assist the Project Manager in completing production and workload tracking reports.
• Participate in preparing agendas for Board of Assessors meetings and Board of Equalization appeal hearings.
• Provide backup phone and front desk support to Account Managers, including handling complex/escalated situations.
• During listing season, review and process annual business, marine, and aircraft property tax returns to ensure taxpayer compliance with Georgia Code. The ideal candidate will also assist with more complex returns, leveraging their expertise to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist the Project Manager and other Team Leads in hiring, training, and managing temporary staff during listing season.

Required Travel: Minimal

Salary Range: $52,000 to $56,000
