About This Position

Job Overview:

The Informatics Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan to optimize Epic and the use of IT solutions including prioritizing of clinical and system initiatives related to Epic.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Epic Certification
  • Degree in Nursing, Informatics, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field with at least 3 years of hospital experience.
  • Basic proficiency with typical IT devices smart phones, desktop PCs, Kiosks, handheld microphones
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare data and healthcare terminology, ie. Patient demographics, Provider workflow.
  • Previous experience with Epic EMR, Dragon Medical One
  • Experience with business type applications - Word and PowerPoint, Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed with limited need for day-to-day supervision
  • Ability to work in a remote independent self-directed environment
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to and work effectively with diverse individuals at all levels both within and outside the company
  • Experience implementing and supporting hospital-wide informatics systems
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize, multi-task and manage time to meet deadlines and time constraints

Essential Functions:

  • In collaboration with the CHIO and CNIO develops clinical informatics strategic plans related to the optimization of the EMR and the use of IT solution including prioritizing of clinical and system initiatives
  • Is the primary Epic subject matter expert providing a consultative role to guide the ITS vision in projects related to Epic
  • Participate in all Epic go live activities: during and post including At the Elbow Support, creating job aids, troubleshooting, opening and managing tickets
  • Participates in change management, readiness and adoption planning and activities to prepare physicians to adopt new workflows, processes and system tools
  • Support applications specific to users of Third-Party Technology including but not limited to: Nuance Dragon Medical One and Dragon Medical Advisor, 2FA, Remote Access, Access request, IPass, Imprivata Single Sign On and EPCS.
  • Support clinical technologies: Avasure Telesitter, GetWellNetwork, WestCom Nurse Call, Teledoc for Behavioral Health
  • Facilitate and participate in application upgrades including planning, testing, coordination with IT Technology teams and Business owners
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures for the usage of clinical information systems
  • Develop and / or contribute to teaching aids required including in person, video or web-based training
