Mission

Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician / Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical building systems and equipment at a federal facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This position plays a key role in ensuring the facility remains safe, reliable, and fully operational through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.

The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with multiple building systems, and a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities

    Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on facility equipment and systems.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.Maintain, service, and repair machinery, tools, and facility infrastructure.Respond to maintenance service requests and emergency repair situations in a timely manner.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company procedures.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspection documentation.Support facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.

Required Qualifications

    Active Secret Security Clearance.High School Diploma or equivalent.EPA Section 608 Certification required.Technical training and certifications in maintenance, mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical systems, industrial equipment, or related fields.Ability to provide documentation of annual continuing education and training relevant to the position.At least three years of experience performing maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial, or government facility systems.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

    Experience supporting federal government, Department of Defense (DoD), or secure facilities.Multi-trade maintenance experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.Additional industry certifications related to facility maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical disciplines.Experience working in a team-oriented facilities management or operations environment.
