Job Description

Summary:
Responsible for increasing the revenue earned by all three properties, by implementing attractive group sales deals and meeting prospective guests and business clients to promote the business unit. Apply proven marketing and sales skills and experience to maximize and manage yield, occupancy and average daily rate of hotel and Food and Beverage business. Sets sales goals, analyzes data, and develops training programs for company’s sales team.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for personnel functions, such as: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegations, evaluations and disciplinary actions; will perform these functions in a timely manner.
• Compiles and enters information into the computer systems and HRIS database.
• Develop plans to acquire new guests or clients, through direct sales techniques, cold calling, and business-to-business marketing visits.
• Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business.
• Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, catering, function space(s), and hotel services within approved booking guidelines.
• Accurately maintains detailed client files.
• Conducts tours, which includes, but is not limited to: facilities, hotel, function space, banquet facilities, etc.
• Conducts events, which includes, but is not limited to: facilities, hotel, function space, banquet facilities, VIP events, menus, etc.
• Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations.
• Achieve monthly personal room and revenue sales goals.
• Effectively communicates Banquet Event Orders (BEO)s and events to affected casino operating departments.
• Prepares and ensures execution of contracts, deposits, billing pertinent to meeting and function space(s) is coordinated and communicated to reservations and sales team.
• Attends and represents company at trade shows and conventions.
• Maintains knowledge of market trends, competition, and guests.
• Consistently follows up to ensure guest satisfaction meets and exceeds service standards.
• Plan and coordinate training programs for sales representatives.
• Fills in for Group Sales team as needed and assists with subordinate duties to ensure success of planned events.
• Operates and maintains office equipment which includes, but not limited to: computer, programmable telephone system, programmable fax, and multi-use photocopier.
• Provides a high standard of professionalism and guest service.
• Must maintain confidentiality.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Minimum Qualifications):
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field; AND
• Minimum one (1) year of food industry and/or hotel/group sales experience; AND
• Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience. OR
• Five (5) years of experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the requirements of the position.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in windows-based programs and knowledge to operate general office equipment, software and databases.
• Must have superior sales and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work mathematical concepts.
• Ability to communicate professionally in written, verbal, and non-verbal format while portraying a friendly tone, word choice, and body language.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Class 12 Mixology (MAST) permit.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Card.
• Must successfully pass TIPS training upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Ability to understand, speak, communicate and read the English language.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to analyze data from multiple information ports by comparing and contrasting data to draw a conclusion or to identify trends.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license.
• Ability to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• Must successfully complete Title 31, Banking Secrecy Act training, if applicable, upon hire and annually.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid non-gaming permit or Tribal Gaming Badge (whichever is applicable).
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
• Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
• Ability to frequently walk, sit, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally drag, push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to frequently bend, squat and/or reach.
• Sufficient visual acuity to write, recognize printed materials, computer screen, and notice non-verbal behavior.
• Speech and hearing ability to project voice to small and large audiences, carry on radio/telephone conversations, hear and grasp verbal communications and equipment prompts.
• Must be able to drive in adverse weather conditions.
• Occasionally works near or around electricity.
• Occasionally works near or around mechanical moving parts.
• Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Frequently exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.
• Frequently exposed to tobacco smoke.
• Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
