Job Description

Maintenance Techician Assistant


The Maintenance Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of facility equipment and infrastructure. This position involves assisting with routine inspections, troubleshooting minor mechanical and electrical issues, and performing preventive maintenance tasks under supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Continuous learning and adaptability are key, as the role involves gaining technical expertise and responding to diverse maintenance challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or technical support role.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technical skills.
  • Communication and organizational skills are essential for documenting work accurately and coordinating with team members.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist senior maintenance technicians in performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
  • Help diagnose and troubleshoot minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to support timely repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support emergency maintenance tasks as needed and communicate effectively with team members to prioritize work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    This role requires regular standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, crouching, and working in all weather conditions.
