Description:

The Live-In House Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, structure, and daily operation of the recovery residence. This position serves as a liaison between residents and clinical/program staff while fostering a safe, supportive, and recovery-oriented living environment. The House Manager acts as a positive role model, demonstrating healthy behaviors, personal accountability, and recovery principles that residents can emulate.

The House Manager resides on-site and provides oversight, support, and guidance to residents while ensuring compliance with program rules, policies, and expectations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide oversight of all household activities assuring timely and high-quality completion of all tasks.
  • Provide the highest level of security and oversight while remaining respectful and professional.
  • Ensure that clients keep the house clean and organized.
  • Report any repair/maintenance needed to the Housing Coordinator.
  • Provide daily oversight and supervision of residents within the home.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping skills, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Encourage resident participation in treatment, recovery activities, employment, education, and community engagement.
  • Monitor resident compliance with house rules, curfews, and program expectations.
  • Assist with conflict resolution among residents and help maintain a positive living environment.
  • Conduct resident orientation and review house policies and procedures.
  • Protect client privacy in accordance with HIPPA laws.
  • All other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Resident Support and Supervision

  • Provide daily oversight and supervision of residents within the home.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping skills, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Encourage resident participation in treatment, recovery activities, employment, education, and community engagement.
  • Monitor resident compliance with house rules, curfews, and program expectations.
  • Assist with conflict resolution among residents and help maintain a positive living environment.
  • Conduct resident orientation and review house policies and procedures.

Communication and Coordination

  • Act as a liaison between residents and clinical/program staff.
  • Communicate resident concerns, behavioral issues, and significant incidents to appropriate staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and provide updates regarding resident progress and house operations.
  • Maintain professional and supportive relationships with residents, staff, and community partners.

Safety and House Operations

  • Ensure the safety and security of residents and the property.
  • Conduct regular house inspections to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Monitor resident and visitor activity in accordance with program policies.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, crises, and incidents.
  • Complete incident reports and required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment and emergency procedures are maintained and followed.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation as required.
  • Monitor house supplies and notify management of maintenance or repair needs.
  • Assist with resident move-ins, discharges, and room assignments.
  • Support compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certificate.
  • Experience with managing a facility that houses a SUD or mental health population.
  • Experience with SUD and mental health terminology and clientele.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must demonstrate superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively de-escalate individuals/situations.
  • Must demonstrate excellent listening skills.
