This role plays a critical part in governing and protecting the commercial integrity of large-scale manufacturing capital projects across global operations. You will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, and managing complex contracts that span engineering, construction, equipment supply, and EPC agreements. The position ensures that contractual frameworks align with strategic, financial, and operational objectives throughout the full project lifecycle. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, legal, finance, and project management to mitigate risk and drive execution excellence. A key focus is maintaining strong contractual governance while proactively identifying risks related to cost, scope, and schedule. This is a highly influential role where strong commercial judgment directly supports the successful delivery of mission-critical capital investments in a global, science-driven environment.
- Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of complex contracts for large-scale capital projects, including EPC, construction, and equipment supply agreements
- Provide end-to-end contractual governance across the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with financial, operational, and legal objectives
- Partner with engineering, procurement, legal, finance, and project management teams to structure contracts and resolve commercial and legal issues
- Monitor contract performance across scope, cost, schedule, and compliance, identifying and mitigating contractual and commercial risks
- Independently assess risk exposure and escalate issues in line with governance frameworks and project objectives
- Develop and implement contract management best practices, standard processes, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with operational excellence frameworks
- Support global capital projects by coordinating with cross-regional stakeholders, suppliers, and execution teams
- Ensure consistent application of contractual standards and governance across multi-million-dollar capital programs
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in contract management, commercial management, or project controls within capital projects or industrial environments
- Proven experience negotiating and managing large-scale contracts (often exceeding $10M), including EPC, construction, or capital equipment agreements
- Strong understanding of contract law principles, commercial frameworks, and risk allocation strategies
- Experience working on complex, cross-functional capital projects involving engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across regional and global project environments
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to balance legal, commercial, and operational considerations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders
- Experience in manufacturing, life sciences, or regulated industrial environments is highly valued
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CPCM, NCMA) or legal education (JD) are a plus
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000 depending on experience
