This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist based in the United States.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of mission-critical government applications. You will be responsible for validating software functionality through structured testing approaches, including functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing. Working within Agile development teams, you will help ensure that each release meets defined requirements and quality standards before deployment. The position requires strong attention to detail, a methodical testing mindset, and the ability to identify and document issues with precision. You will collaborate closely with developers and subject matter experts to support fast and effective defect resolution. This is a highly collaborative environment where QA insight directly influences product stability and delivery success. Your work will contribute to secure, compliant, and dependable digital systems used in regulated government contexts.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases covering functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing activities.
- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA, ensuring clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
- Validate sprint user stories against acceptance criteria and ensure readiness for release.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and SMEs to clarify requirements and resolve defects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation including test cases, test evidence, and QA reports.
- Support release testing cycles and participate in go/no-go decision-making processes.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies, providing QA input during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing roles.
- Hands-on experience with JIRA and test management tools for defect tracking and test execution.
- Active U.S. Secret clearance required.
- U.S. citizenship required and compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile testing methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented and structured approach to testing.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- ISTQB Foundation certification is preferred.
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) and SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with government systems or procurement platforms is advantageous.
- Annual salary range of approximately $75,000 to $112,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
