Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Developer Community Manager in Spain.
This role sits at the intersection of developer relations, community engagement, and technical advocacy within the open-source ecosystem. You will be responsible for building meaningful presence where engineers actively discuss and evaluate tools, including forums, social platforms, and technical communities. The mission is to ensure the product becomes a trusted and respected voice in conversations that influence technology decisions. You will engage directly with developers, not as a marketer or salesperson, but as a credible peer adding real value. The environment is fast-paced, remote-first, and highly collaborative with product, engineering, and marketing teams. This position requires both technical fluency and authentic community participation.
Act as a visible and credible presence across developer communities while actively contributing to discussions rather than promoting a product.
- Engage in technical conversations on platforms such as Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn, Discord, Stack Overflow, Medium, and GitHub around orchestration, data engineering, and infrastructure tools.
- Answer developer questions, share expertise, and provide useful insights that build long-term trust within communities.
- Identify high-impact communities and discussions where the product can meaningfully contribute and grow its presence over time.
- Collaborate with product marketing, engineering, and developer relations teams to surface relevant use cases, explainers, and technical insights.
- Translate community feedback, recurring questions, and pain points into actionable insights for product and engineering teams.
- Build and maintain relationships with technical creators such as bloggers, YouTubers, and newsletter authors in the data and infrastructure space.
- Use modern tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to scale engagement while maintaining technical accuracy and authenticity.
Strong technical understanding of data pipelines, orchestration systems, and infrastructure tooling, with the ability to engage senior engineers credibly.
- Proven experience participating in or building developer communities with real influence and trust.
- Deep familiarity with platform dynamics across Reddit, Hacker News, X, LinkedIn, Discord, and similar ecosystems.
- Excellent written English with the ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly; French is a plus.
- Creator mindset with the ability to quickly identify opportunities and produce valuable technical content.
- Experience with social listening or community tools such as Common Room is a plus.
- Hands-on exposure to orchestration or data tools such as Airflow, VMware, or similar systems is an advantage.
- Strong curiosity, autonomy, and ability to operate in a highly asynchronous, remote-first environment.
- Competitive full-time salary or freelance day rate
- Fully remote, async-first work environment
- High autonomy with the opportunity to define and build the community function from the ground up
- Direct collaboration with engineering, product, and marketing teams
- Access to modern tools and freedom to experiment and iterate quickly
- Real-time monitoring system to track relevant discussions and community mentions efficiently
