This role sits within a highly regulated financial services environment where identity and access management is critical to securing enterprise applications and user journeys. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Ping Identity solutions that support authentication, federation, and secure access across complex systems. The position offers hands-on work with enterprise-scale IAM infrastructure, including SSO and modern identity protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect. You will collaborate closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless and secure integrations. The environment is compliance-driven, requiring strong attention to governance, documentation, and change management processes. This is a remote contract opportunity suited for an experienced engineer who thrives in structured, regulated settings and can operate independently while delivering reliable IAM solutions.
Responsible for the design, configuration, and ongoing support of enterprise Ping Identity solutions, ensuring secure and stable identity services across the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain PingFederate, PingAccess, and PingDirectory solutions
- Administer and troubleshoot SSO, federation, and authentication services across enterprise applications
- Support integrations using SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect standards
- Participate in IAM lifecycle processes including onboarding, provisioning, and deprovisioning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications into the IAM ecosystem
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and change management records
- Support security audits, compliance activities, and regulatory evidence gathering
- Identify and resolve IAM vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and operational issues
- Provide incident support for authentication and access-related disruptions
This role requires strong hands-on IAM experience, particularly with Ping Identity technologies, along with familiarity in regulated enterprise environments.
- 4–7 years of experience in Identity and Access Management
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Ping Identity products, especially PingFederate (PingAccess and PingDirectory preferred)
- Strong understanding of federation protocols: SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OIDC
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government
- Familiarity with LDAP and Active Directory integration
- Knowledge of MFA and adaptive authentication solutions
- Experience working within ITSM and formal change management frameworks (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Ability to work independently and manage deliverables with minimal supervision
- Preferred: Ping Identity certifications (e.g., PingFederate Engineer)
- Preferred: Exposure to CyberArk, SailPoint, or other IAM/PAM/IGA tools
- Preferred: Cloud IAM experience (AWS IAM, Azure AD/Entra ID)
- Preferred: Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation
- Preferred: Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI-DSS, or FFIEC
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and pass background screening
