About the Role:

The Commercial HVAC Service Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and managing field service teams to ensure the efficient and safe delivery of HVAC services across commercial properties. This position is responsible for maintaining compliance with all HVAC codes and regulations while promoting a culture of safety and quality workmanship. The supervisor will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with account managers, and ensure that all service documentation is accurate and up to date. By providing coaching and official management to team members, the supervisor fosters professional growth and operational excellence. Ultimately, this role ensures customer satisfaction through effective team leadership, adherence to industry standards, and proactive problem-solving. *not a remote position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+years proven experience in supervising HVAC field service teams in a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC safety standards, codes, and regulations applicable in the United States.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coach technical teams effectively.
  • 10+years' experience with HVAC service documentation and account management processes.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various commercial job sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC technology or related technical field.
  • Experience with cross-functional leadership in a multi-disciplinary service environment.
  • Familiarity with advanced HVAC diagnostic tools and software. Knowledge BuildOps software a plus.
  • Prior experience working with large commercial accounts or facilities management.
  • Additional safety certifications such as OSHA or EPA.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of HVAC field service teams to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HVAC safety protocols, codes, and regulations across all job sites.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance management to team members to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Collaborate with account management to address client needs, schedule services, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive HVAC service documentation, including work orders, safety reports, and compliance records.
  • Lead cross-functional communication between service teams, management, and clients to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to meet service goals.

Skills:

The required skills are essential for daily supervision and management of HVAC field teams, ensuring that all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are met consistently. Field Team Supervision skills enable the supervisor to effectively organize and lead technicians, while HVAC Safety Skills and knowledge of Codes and Regulations ensure compliance and risk mitigation on job sites. Cross-Functional Leadership is used to coordinate efforts between different departments and stakeholders, facilitating smooth operations and communication. Coaching and Team Official Management skills help in developing team members’ capabilities and maintaining high morale. Account Management and HVAC Documentation skills are critical for maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring accurate record-keeping, which supports operational transparency and customer satisfaction.
