We proudly offer a diverse array of services tailored to the distinct needs of Homeowners Associations, municipalities, and private clients. Our committed team operates with integrity and transparency, providing tailored solutions, including customizable workplace safety training. With deep-rooted expertise and an unwavering commitment to safety, Swan Aquatics is your trusted partner for all training needs.

About the Role:

The Facility Supervisor at Kirtland AFB is responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of all patrons at aquatic facilities. The Facility Supervisor leads the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the pool site. This role oversees lifeguard staffing and performance, daily operations, scheduling, quality control, contract deliverables, emergency planning, budgets, and required records while serving as Swan Aquatics' primary on-site contact for the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The supervisor is on site for each of the three daily sessions (5:30-8:30AM, 10:30-1:30PM, and 3:30-6:30PM). Swan Aquatics pays for all required certifications, recertifications and the CPO course. The Facility Supervisor position is full-time, salaried, exempt role eligible for Swan Aquatics' group benefits through ADP TotalSource (medical, dental and vision insurance), 401(k), paid time off, and an Employee Assistance Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current lifeguard certification from American Red Cross, StarGuard ELITE, or Ellis & Associates
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and standard First Aid.
  • Previous experience in a pool management or supervisory role.
  • 18+ years old minimum.
  • Must pass a background check for base access.
  • Swim test: 300-yard swim, 2-minute tread, and a 10-lb brick retrieval from 7 ft in under 1:40

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification or Lifeguard Instructor Trainer Certification (LGI/LGIT).
  • A Certified Pool Operator (CPO) is strongly encouraged.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Opens the facility by 5:00AM and makes sure water chemistry and temperature are tested and logged 30-60 minutes before the 5:30AM opening.
  • Confirms three certified lifeguards are present and briefed before each session opens.
  • Makes sure every patron signs the Government log before entering the water.
  • Makes sure the pool is vacuumed, skimmer baskets and drain grates are cleared, and decks and locker rooms are clean each day.
  • Makes sure rescue and safety equipment is inspected, sanitized and logged daily.
  • Checks water temperature at least twice a day and notifies the COR at once if it falls outside 78–82°F.
  • Takes scene control in any emergency: clears the pool, meets base responders and notifies the COR.
  • Handles public communication about unplanned closures and logs lost-and-found items.
  • Closes and secures the facility after the last session and delivers the sign-in log.
  • Between sessions the pool is closed. The manager uses that time for scheduling, training, records and deliverables, and stays reachable by phone from 5:30AM to 6:30PM.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong leadership, which is essential for managing the lifeguard team and ensuring effective communication. Lifeguard certification skills are utilized daily to assess and respond to potential hazards in the aquatic environment. Training and emergency response skills are critical for conducting drills and preparing the team for real-life situations. Preferred skills, such as facility management experience, enhance the ability to maintain a safe and organized environment. Overall, these skills enable the Facility Supervisor to effectively promote safety and foster a positive environment for staff and patrons.
