Job Description
Crescent Counseling Center was founded in 2021 by a small group of therapists who shared a simple but deeply held belief: that the therapy experience — for both clients and clinicians — could be so much better.
They had seen what practice looked like when it was built around volume over relationship, and they wanted something different. They wanted a space where therapists felt supported, valued, and genuinely invested in their work — because they knew that when clinicians thrive, clients do too.
So they built it. A practice designed from the ground up to feel personal, intentional, and human — from the way the space looks and feels, to the way clients are matched with clinicians, to the way the team shows up for each other every day.
That commitment hasn't changed. Crescent is still independently owned, still selective about who joins the team, and still focused on making therapy feel less like an obligation and more like a valued part of your self-care routine.
Who We Are:We are clinicians who take our work seriously — and take the experience of therapy seriously too. We believe the right environment and the right clinician are what make therapy actually work.
We're a practice that looks like the community we serve. Our team brings a range of backgrounds, identities, and clinical perspectives — because good therapy is culturally informed therapy.
We hire people who are not just qualified but genuinely passionate, and we prioritize their growth because we know it directly shapes the care our clients receive.
We invite you to step into our therapeutic space: where thoughtful care, professionalism, and comfort come together. At Crescent Counseling Center, our therapists support meaningful growth and lasting well-being for every client we serve.
What We Are Looking For:Crescent Counseling Center is seeking an independently licensed LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with prior private practice or outpatient experience to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate enjoys helping children and teens build confidence, navigate challenges, and strengthen their relationships. We’re looking for someone who connects naturally with young people, partners effectively with caregivers, and brings compassion, sound clinical judgment, and creativity to their work.
You will provide in-person outpatient therapy to children and adolescents during after-school and evening hours. The schedule is 2:30–7:30 p.m., up to five days per week, with the number of days established during the hiring process.
Salary Range: $60,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include:
· Providing developmentally appropriate, evidence-informed therapy tailored to each client’s needs.
· Completing clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and monitoring progress.
· Involving parents and caregivers as clinically appropriate to support treatment goals.
· Assessing safety concerns and coordinating additional support when needed.
· Maintaining timely, accurate clinical documentation.
· Collaborating with colleagues and other providers to support coordinated care.
Qualifications
· Active, unrestricted Virginia license as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
· Experience providing therapy to children and adolescents.
· Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and family dynamics.
· Ability to engage young clients and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
· Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive, and ethical care.
· Consistent availability during the required afternoon and evening hours.
Experience with play-based interventions, caregiver support, and concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, trauma, or school-related stress is welcome.
Why Crescent?
