The Mortgage Loan Closer will be our subject matter expert on all aspects of residential real estate loan documents and disclosures. This role will be responsible for assuring the accuracy of the information within the documents as well as adherence to regulations and secondary market requirements. This role will also serve as a member of the mortgage operations team, assisting in the day-to-day process of originating residential real estate loans.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert for all residential real estate documents and disclosures.
- Provide clear, polite and professional communication in-person, via phone, chat, and email to internal and external customers.
- Master the use of all document systems including DocMagic, Laserpro, and any other system associated with the production of loan documents and/or the loan origination process.
- Responsible for assembling permanent loans files, assuring accuracy and completeness.
- Responsible for issuing TRID documents as well as closing documents, while adhering to all Federal and State regulations.
- Collaborate with the rest of the mortgage operations department to ensure that the lender and customer both have the best possible experience.
- Work with our secondary market quality control vendor to ensure that they can efficiently complete their reviews.
- Coordinate with title companies to balance closing figures in a quick and efficient manner.
- Assist in mortgage loan pipeline management, including, but not limited to, tracking regulatory deadlines, status of each application within the origination process, ordering of appraisals, closing date, etc.
- Work with lenders to ensure that all disclosures and closing documents meet their approval.
- Serve as a mortgage loan administrator, assisting in other areas of the loan origination process as needed.
- Collaborate with other members of the mortgage operations department to ensure the timely sale of secondary market mortgage loans.
- Update information in the loan operating system.
- Assists in the coordination among all parties in the mortgage lending process
- Master all technology used in the loan origination process including but not limited to the LOS, PPE, POS, CRM, document system, cold storage, core technology, etc.
- Communicate with and facilitate processes and parties in the origination process.
- Operate within a team environment and effectively communicate with customers, lenders, processors, closers and underwriters.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction (internal/external).

- Assist the Loan Operations Manager in various duties as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a financial services related field is preferred but not required.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the mortgage lending industry.

Language Ability:
Ability to understand complicated situations and communicate them in a succent and efficient manner. Must be fluent (reading/writing/speaking) in English. The ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is preferred but not required.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios, percentage, basis points, and proportions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Able to adjust quickly to different work situations; remain composed under pressure and in stressful situations. Team player who must embrace change and see change as opportunity. Must be willing to express and support management’s ideas to affected staff.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the ability to adapt to new technological systems such as an LOS, a POS, and various investor portals. Knowledge of Word and Excel is preferred but not required.

Existing NMLS registration

Salary Range: $52,000 - $74,880 depending upon experience
